    A living pixel-art pond

    Procedural Pond is a free, self-running virtual aquarium in your browser. Every animal is a chain of joints that follows its head, the idea from argonautcode's procedural animation sketch, drawn by a tiny voxel renderer into chunky, shaded pixel art.

    What happens here

    • Koi, tetras, eels, axolotls, turtles, crabs, stingrays, frogs, snakes, snails, jellyfish, clownfish, pufferfish, an octopus, ducks, shrimp, starfish and dragonflies.
    • New fish species are invented as you watch, each with its own shape, colours, pattern and name.
    • Animals get hungry, grow up, lay eggs, pass their genes on, hunt, flee and eventually move on.
    • A day/night cycle and a moon whose phases drive the tides and surf on the beach. Corals spawn under the full moon.
    • Freshwater, saltwater or both: reef fish, corals and starfish, or koi, frogs and lily pads.
    • Genetics with rare albino, melanistic, piebald and shiny animals that breed true.
    • Your pond saves itself and is waiting when you come back. Keep several ponds, export them as files, or share a link so friends can start the same pond.
